So, you may have noticed that there hasn’t been an issue of WIE for a while. Indeed our social media feeds state that WIE is a former Welling United fanzine. What is true is that WIE is on a break. For now. And with no end date.

The editor hasn’t been to many games in the last couple of seasons (since 2022/23), which makes producing the fanzine unrealistic. We also suspect that our small band of regular contributors have enjoyed not being continually badgered by said editor for their articles.

As for the future, currently there are no plans to bring WIE back. But never say never. This website will remain as will our presence on X, Instagram, Facebook, and Threads.

Should we be in a position to restart the fanzine we will of course announce it here and via our social media platforms. But you will probably hear the collective groans of our regular contributors as they open the email with the news from the editor!
